Simulation Files
Simulation File Search
Use the search below to find the downloadable Simulation Files in DXF format to accompany your Harvey Tool products. Each file is a half-round line drawing specifically scaled to the geometry of the tool to help simulate running parameters and create tool paths. Like our Speeds & Feeds charts, these files will be continuously updated with the introduction of new products and new catalogs to assist in the operation of our tools.
What are Simulation Files?
Many cutting tools have complex profiles that are difficult to describe in a traditional catalog format. In these cases, it may be helpful to understand the tool's specific profile to confirm tool selection prior to purchasing. Using a universal file format (.dxf), the simulation file can be downloaded and imported directly into the CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software package. In this way, the tool cutting parameters can be simulated and issues involving interference, dimensional accuracy and cycle times can be determined ahead of time allowing a more informed cutter choice.
Each .dxf file has the following features:
- Drawn in one layer (Layer 0)
- 2D format
- Half profile
- End and center of tool located at origin (0, 0, 0)
- Cutting edges marked in RED
- Created using AutoCAD and saved in version 2000 format
Our simulation files are compatible with most common CAD and CAM software programs.
